She Found Love Again At 60!

Yes, it’s Valentine’s day again. A day of love and a day that also reminds you of your relationship status. Remember everyday is a day of love. Singles remember we are loved. A lot of people seriously struggle with being single. One thing that has helped me is praying to God to guide me to the husband he has for me. As well as embracing my single season and continuing to walk this journey. The most wonderful thing about life is the people that surround your life and how you can learn from them only if you choose to. Anything you want advice about I am 99.9 percent sure there is someone in your life to help you in a non-rude/ non-judgmental way. However, you must be open to listen. Therefore, when I was thinking about Valentine’s day Bonnie Green came to mind. Bonnie Green is my Aunt, who is a social butterfly and loves to travel. She came to mind because after her loving Husband of 28 years transitioned to Heaven, she was single for 8 years and content. According to Mrs. Green, she never thought about getting married again and was prepared to live a life of singlehood. Then one day, she found herself going on a date with a former Lockheed co-worker: Johnny Green. Two years later she and Johnny Green were married in a ceremony in Cartersville, Georgia among family and friends. She was 60 years old! God has a timeline and a plan for our lives. His timing is not our timing. Mr.& Mrs. Green’s foundation for their relationship is God. The following are four tips Bonnie Green has pertaining to relationships:

1. Ask Jesus to guide you to the mate he has for you.
2. Ask God to recognize qualities that are important not based off of emotions and feelings.
3. Let the Bible be your guide.
4. Pray to God for guidance.

Mrs. Green explained these tips helped her in the courting phase of her relationship and in her relationship now. Mr. & Mrs.Green are now a blended family and spend their retired lives traveling and spending time with their family and friends. Before Mrs. Green started to date, she remembered what her previous husband used to say “The way to honor the death of someone you loved is to go on with life”. She stated she needed to run towards life and not run from life that is how you honor the person you have lost. Therefore, whatever relationship season you are in run towards life. If you are single start the business, travel the world, continue your education or become a foster parent. Do whatever God is calling you to do with joy. If you are married continue to pray for your relationship and pray for strength, growth, direction and help others. All of our paths will be different. You might get married at 21, 34, or 60 years old. Remember Valentine’s Day is a day of love and if your desire is to one day get married and have children remember God is listening and knows the plans for your life. He has a special mate just for you in HIS TIMING. Keep the hope and faith. Happy Valentine’s Day!
